MoYou London: 31 Day Challenge - Day 2 Nature

Hi everyone.  Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  Let me start off by saying how much day 2 was almost the death of me.  I had thought about what I wanted to do on my nails to portray "Nature," and one thing I knew I didn't want to do was fall into the birds & bees trap.  Don't get me wrong, there is some cracking entries with animals and flowers on, I just fancied something a little different.  So I wrote an idea down last night and attempted said idea tonight: FAIL.  I scrapped the lot and tried again: FAIL.  We're now onto attempt 3... I'm not 110% happy with my execution BUT I am giving myself 10 outta 10 for sticking with it & not giving up!

This is based on the famous book "The Very Hungry Caterpiller" by Eric Carle, and to represet "Nature" this is the caterpiller transforming into a butterfly.

Polishes Used:
Essie - Really Red (Pictured)
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Ivory Skull
Sinful Colors - Last Chance
Ciate - Apple & Custard
Sally Hansen Insta Dri - In Record Lime
Sally Hansen Insta Dri - Bronze Ablaze
Essie - Good As Gold
Sally Hansen Lacquer Shine - Brilliant
nails inc - Holborn
Sally Hansen Insta Dri - Blue-Ming Fast
W7 - Pink
Color Club - Unnamed Yellow
Seche Vite

I started off by painting all my nails white with the Ivory Skull.  I then got Last Chance, Apple & Custard and In Record Lime and using my small nail art brush I did separate strokes of each to make the caterpillar's body.  I finished him off with adding a face in Really Red, and the smaller details like the eyes and feet were done using Brilliant.  (I stamped on an apple from MoYou London Fairy tale plate, to tie in with The Very Hungry Caterpiller story).

Using Brilliant, I made a branch and a stem for the cocoon.  I then went back in with Bronze Ablaze to make a tear-drop, and added definition with Good As Gold.

For my index finger, I painted a coat of Holborn over the Ivory Skull to make the stamping stand out & be extra special.  Then using Blue-Ming Fast, Pink, Unnamed Yellow and In Record Lime I stamped on the butteflies from Princess Plate 10.

I'm fairy happy with the design, as I think it represents Nature in the most natural way :-)
