Nail Candi Skin Protecter For Nails Review

If you are still using a clean up brush with acetone, scotch tape or Vaseline around your nails for clean up, then you need to stop and evaluate your life.  The latest craze/trend to sweep through the nail art world is Liquid Latex!  So put down that brush and throw away your scotch tape because this review is heading in a direction where those items aren't invited!

Today I have a bottle of Nail Candi to share with you.  This is a bottle of Latex based liquid that protects your skin from messy nail art; allowing you to make as much mess as possible and when all is said and done, it peels away as if nothing ever happened.

Before continuing with this review, I must point out that if you have an allergy to latex you cannot use this product!  Not to fear, though, there are loads of barrier products out there now which do not contain latex and are PVA Glue based.  I found an article, which you can read here by CraftyNail where she explains how you can make your own bottle :-)

WINSTONIA OR BINSTONIA; THAT IS THE QUESTION?!

Somebody once told me "a bad work-man blames his tools."  I am a true believer in this statement, however, how about we flip that on its positive head with "every work-man needs good tools?!"  Okay, okay... So I know we're not (all) men here BUT we are still using tools of some description, and I think its super important to have a decent set, agreed?

With that being said, enter Winstonia.  This is their 3 piece striper pen set; there is a short, medium and a long brush which is great for versatile use.  Prior to this set, I have been using a cheap, no-name eBay brush for my striping and detailing work, so even having these in my house felt like royalty before I'd even used them.

Review: Simply Spoiled Beauty Nail Art Pens

Hi everyone.  I received some epic Nail Mail from Simply Spoiled Beauty recently in the form of this 12 piece double ended Nail Art Pen set.  Christmas had came early in my house when this popped through my letterbox.

Simply Spoiled Beauty is an online retailer of nail art supplies and other cosmetic products.  They have a large following on social media and frequently feature customers' pictures if you use their products.  This always makes me want to purchase something if a company does this, as I like my work & efforts to be recognised if I use a particular product.

As I mentioned, I recieved this nail art pen set, along with some glitter nail art pens and some other nail art accent bows and gems.  Be sure to look out for them in future nail art posts.

I'm Back & Happy Movember!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well.  Winter is well and truly upon us now, and the cold, dark nights are setting in fast here, in the UK.

I've taken a break from doing my nails, as my life has got super super busy arranging for Christmas and several family birthdays that occur around this time of year.  I've really enjoyed taking a back seat and watching the beautiful creations others have come up with on my social media feeds, it's been refreshing.

I thought I better start back with something to honour Movember... Movember encourages men to grow a moustache for the 30 days of November, to support & raise awareness of mens health.  If you want more information, you can click here.  It really is a great, worldwide cause.

Happy Spangley Halloween!

In need of some last minute Halloween Nail Art Ideas?  You've come to the right place!

Tonight I have 2 designs to share with you, both complete with video tutorials which you'll find on my YouTube channel or, at the bottom of this post.

#TBT Then And Now - Halloween Nail Art

When I started looking for this weeks then and now nail art, I knew I could only pick one thing...  The attempts I made at Halloween Nail Art last year.

I'm super happy with how these nails turned out.  I loosely followed a YouTube Tutorial by ChristabellNails, that just so happened to fit into the same design for my TBT.  I really really like the way they turned out, infact, I even have a mega soft spot for my index and pinkie fingers.  As usual, the 53 week old "Then" picture, will be after the jump.

#TBT Then And Now - WaterMarble Nail Art

Before I start this blog post, I have to throw in a small disclaimer saying I do not claim to be any sort of water marble expert! :) I have merely picked up a few tips over my nail art career and it seems to now be working for me.  Keep reading this post to find out what those tips are and to see my video tutorial, as usual! :)

I thought it would be perfect to start my #TBT series off with Water-Marble.  I first attempted water-marbling 82 weeks ago, and at the time, gave myself 6 out of 10 - CLEARLY I was being a little cocky.  Looking back, my attempt doesn't even deserve 0.6 out of 10!  Even although I can still see mistakes with these nails today, I am still much happier with them, and can defiantly say its one of my best water-marbles to date.

As always, you'll find a picture of my "Then" or "TBT" Picture, after the jump ;-) Brace yourself....

#SwatchySunday nails inc - Pavillion Road

Hi everyone! Sorry I have been AWOL this last week.  Since the redesign of my blog, I have been working very hard on thinking of new, exciting and different things that I do, to keep you guys entertained, engaged and spangled!  I have loads of exciting things planned - but as you can guess, sometimes ideas can take a while to process from mind to paper to what you're reading now.

One of the thing I have came up with, is that on a Sunday, I will pick (or my boyfriend will pick) a polish out of my collection, to swatch & review!  Maybe in about 10 years time, I should have a blog post & review for every polish I own haha!

We shall call it... #SwatchySunday and welcome to post number 1.  The colour I have chosen is nails inc - Pavillion Road.  Full review, including video tutorial for my autumn tree is after the jump.

Nautical Nail Art & The Launch Of The New Spangley Nails!

Welcome to the new & improved Spangley Nails! :)

I am very very very excited to welcome you, as I have some really exciting things planned to take Spangley Nails to the "next level," and where ever that is - I hope to see you there, friend!

Things will still be relatively the same - regular nail art, videos, tutorials and swatches BUT I hope to throw in some extras & have set things that I post on set days as well.  For example, if you have been here a while, you may remember I used to post my "Then & Now" manicures on a Wednesday - this will now be moved to a Thursday to tie in with the very popular hashtag #TBT which stands for Throw Back Thursday.

Onto today's nail art though, is this nautical themed manicure.  Video tutorial will be after the jump, as well as all details on polishes and methods used.

Colourful Flower Nail Art & Video Tutorial

I am not ready to let go of summer floral's yet.  I thought I'd make a bold statement with the following nail art to really emphasise this point.

I seen the following nails on Pinterest by @nails_by_cindy and knew I just had to recreate complete with a tutorial for you guys - I cant believe how easy and beautiful they are.

After I completed this manicure, I started thinking I could add nail caviar or glitter but I really think in this case that less is more and the bright colours do all the talking for themselves without added extras like caviar or glitter.

Colour Stripes With Black Frame Nail Art And Video Tutorial!

Another great response was received by Spangley Nails yesterday in response to my Pink Roses Nail Art!  Thank you to everyone who has liked, commented, shared and followed - it is all very much appreciated.  My Instagram account is now at over 4000 followers and my Facebook account has just under 500 likes.  I really cannot stress how much I appreciate every interation I get from you guys, whether its likes, follows, comments or shares - so thank you very much! :-)

As I mentioned yesterday, all my nail art designs will come with their accompanying video tutorial from now on and today's nail art is no different!! I seen such a lovely design on Pinterest and just knew I had to recreate it.  I cannot remember the nail artist though, so if you know who, please let me know and I'll credit appropriately.

I really love this design, I think its really versatile and could be worn with any shades of colour, for example, how great and effective would it look all different shades of blue or pink.

Pink Roses With Video Tutorial!

Yes, I am still here.  Yes, I am still alive.  Yes, I have Nail Art to share with you today!  I figured those would be the questions you were asking yourself whilst reading this post ;-)

I've started making the Nail Painting process a lengthy but exciting one for myself, but a great and equally as exciting one for you readers.  I paint my nails then take and edit the pictures as well as write a detailed blog post including extra pictures and the polishes I used.  I will then film & edit a 15 second tutorial for my Instagram followers, but I will also post it here on www.spangley-nails.com and Facebook.  Phew - alot of work, but worth it in the end for both you and me!  I will always post the video on here before it goes live on any of my social media sites, so be sure to check it out here if you want a sneak peak.

The design today is this really pretty Rose design featuring a Models Own Hypergel Polish.

Nude, White and Gold Floral Nail Art

Happy Saturday, Friends!  I hope you are all well and are enjoying the weekend.  I am back tonight with this cute floral manicure, that was a very simple one to achieve & I must say that I am really happy with the results.  I have been really loving floral manicures lately - seems like I'm a bit of a Johnny come lately on the whole floral thing if I'm honest!  I always thought they were so difficult, but they're not - promise!

One Stroke Flower Nail Art

Hi everyone!  I sat down to do Nail Art today  without really knowing what I wanted to do, these just sort of happened.  I love floral patterns at any time of the year but especially during this crap weather we're having as I only need to look at my nails to feel bright again, so this seemed like a perfect time to bring out the miracle grow (miracle grow is what you use on garden flowers to help them to grow for those of you who don't know haha!)

I first seen CutePolish apply the below technique and decided it looked so easy, I just knew it'd end up on Spangley Nails too.

#NailArtJul Day 31 - Watermelon

Hi everyone!! The day has arrived!! I have officially finished #NaiArtJul! I'm super happy with all my efforts in this challenge - even if I do say so myself!  The last prompt of the challenge is Watermelon!! I seen a few Watermelon nails floating about recently because the highly popular nail guru "CutePolish" posted a tutorial on her YouTube channel for them a few weeks ago.

I love the fact that I was able to incorporate my She-Sells-Seashells chevron nail stickers into this design - I think they look like the outside of a Watermelon (use your imagination, lol!)

#NailArtJul Day 28 - Frozen Treat

Hi Everyone! Today's post marks the second last posting of #NailArtJul and I'm really happy to say I've nearly completed it.  I had a look at #NailArtAug but I wasn't so much in love with any of the prompts so I don't think I will be participating in it this time!

This is my first time using my new Models Own polishes that I won in a give-away held by Antonia over at @nailsandpolkadots.  They were actually really easy to work with and I'm super happy with the way they look on my nails.  I cant wait to use them some more!

Todays prompt was "Frozen Treat" and the only nail art that felt fitting for today was ice cream!

#NailArtJul Day 25 - Favourite App

Hello??? Anybody out there??? I can confirm, it is I, Nicole, back & reporting for duty.  Haha sorry about the small sabbatical people, its the start of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival I've been wrapped up in that.  I also had some holidays from work and I went back today so the last couple of days I've been reorganising my life in preparation for that inevitable moment.  With all that said, I was still determined to complete #NailArtJul... I was put off with Day 25 a little which didn't help my 'flow'.

Day 25 is Favourite app... My favourite app is quite obviously Instagram BUT I know this is alot of other peoples favourite too, so during my sabbatical I was trying my hardest to think of something different but I was always reverting back to my old friend - Instagram!!  So I caved and came up with these...

Nude And Black Nail Art

Happy Friday All! :-) Another day and another Nail Art accomplishment haha... I won a competition this week - hence my lack of posts.  The whole process was so nerve racking from start to finish.  I entered the manicure on the Monday morning, then I had to wait until the Monday night to find out if I was shortlisted, which I was, then from that point to the Tuesday evening, friends, family and any Tom, Dick or Harry that I could find had to vote for my nails to win, this voting then found out I had won on the Wednesday morning - so if you're reading this and you voted for me - THANK YOU! Onto today's manicure though, I was inspired by a picture I seen on Pinterest.
