Spangley's Simple Steps: {Tutorial Week} Pink Bow Nail Art

Hi everyone! To start filling up my Tutorial page, I have decided to have a tutorial week! I'm going to do Simple designs that can be achieved easily whatever stage of nail art you are at.  I'm starting off with this cute girlie manicure with a pink bow, glitter and polka dots.

Before you start, make sure you have everything you need;

Your favourte Base and Top Coat
A Dark, Light and Medium Pink: Essie - Off The Sholder, Ciate - Amazing Gracie, Barry M - Strawberry I/C
Black: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Onyx
Pink Glitter: Barry M - Rose Quartz
And an optionial Pink Textured Polish: Sally Hansen Sugar Coat - Treat Heart

You will also need a few tools too;

I will start off with the ring finger (because its the easiest!)

Start off by painting your base coat and letting it dry, then paint on your light pink.  This is 3 thin coats of Amazing Gracie.

Once that is completely dry, add a coat of Pink Glitter and you're done! This is 2 thin coats of Rose Quartz.

Next, onto the bow...

Start off by painting on your base coat and letting it dry, then paint on your medium pink.  This is 2 thick coats of Strawberry I/C.

Using your large dotting tool and your dark pink, add a dot to the top centre of your middle finger.  This is a dot of Off The Shoulder.

Next using your detail brush, add 2 C shapes at either side of the dot using your black polish.  Both near the top of the dot.  I'm using Onyx for this.

Join each side of the C shapes by doing a side ways U shape shape.  Make sure you bring it to a curved point at the bottom.

The last step is to add the ribbon.  You draw to thin lines coming down from your original dot and join them with a V shape

Finally, fill in the sections with your dark pink and outline the black lines so they are fully opaque.  I filled mine in with Off The Shoulder.

For my Polka dot nails, I added 3 thin coats of Amazing Gracie and used Treat Heart to makes the dots.  This is a textured polish.  I have stated above that this is optional because you do not have to do textured polka dots - you could use your dark pink for the same effect.

I have tried my best to show you what order I drew my polka dots on.  This is how I learned to do it - I know people work from the centre out - this is just the way I find easiest.

Finish off by applying your favourite top coat and your done! Oh! I added a silver stud to my bow on top of the bow too.  This is optional as it looked perfectly fine before it, I just wanted more (usual story lol!)

Please let me know if you try this design out by using the hashtag #LookSpangley on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, alternatively you can tag me in the picture - I'd love to see!
