MoYou London Rainbow Challenge - Wednesday: Yellow

This challenge is now almost half way through - how exciting.  After I post today's that will be 3 out of 7 done & dusted.  It will be very exciting to complete this short, but fun challenge.

Admittedly, I lie in bed at night thinking of what I can do for my next manicure and can never come up with something on the top of my head.  What works for me is, sitting down with the plates and visualising the designs on my nails.  Today's theme was Yellow and  it wasn't until I was browsing my plates this afternoon, I came up with this idea.  I am a very literal thinker - can be a good or a bad thing, you decide!   So when it was red, I used "roses are red" as my inspiration..  Today's idea ended up a bit like that..  What is long, famous, iconic and yellow?!  No, not Homer Simpsons head!! The Yellow Brick Road of course!! :-)

Polishes Used:
Rimmel - Sunshine (Pictured)
Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
Sinful Colors - Black On Black
Sinful Colors - Unicorn
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Butter-Fly Stroke
Konad - White
Revlon - Gold Coast
Seche Vite

MoYou Plate(s) Used:
Fairytale Plate 12
Mother Nature Plate 01

I started off by painting all of my nails with Snow Me White.  For my ring and pinkie finger, I used my fan brush to paint lines of colour onto each nail.  I used Sunshine, Butter-Fly Stroke and Unicorn for this.  I then used the sponge method and sponged on Gold Coast - a shimmery yellow gold.

For my index and middle fingers, I used Butter-Fly Stroke to stamp the yellow brick road from Fairytale Plate 12 onto the bottom half of my nail.  Next, using Black On Black, I stamped Dorothy, Toto, Tin Man and Scarecrow onto these fingers and topped them with a coat of seche vite.

On this stamping plate, the yellow brick road comes hollow or "filled in."  I used the "filled in" version for my first 2 fingers, so I used the hollow version and Black On Black to stamp at the top and at the the bottom of my ring finger and the top of my pinkie.

To finish off, I added the cowardly lion to my pinkie with Black On Black and used Konad White to stamp the words FOLLOW onto my ring finger.  This whole design was done using Fairytale Plate 12, the only reason I had to use Mother Nature 01 was to use the "MO" from the writing, turned upside down makes "OW" for the end of FOLLOW on my ring finger :)
