Then And Now: Fashion Inspired Nail Art

Hi all! I know you all love a Wednesday's Then And Now and today's post is just that!  I first done today's design 63 weeks ago and it was the second design I done that was pictured in my lightbox! I was so happy with the way the lightbox made my design look quite professional - but looking back now, it was more of a flop & anything but! The outfit that my nail art was inspired by was an ensemble that @thuyy_trann put together on Instagram.
I think this design looks sort of edgey, I'm quite happy with it and love how it turned out.  As always, the "Then" picture, including Thuy's outfit inspiration are after the jump.

Polishes Used:

Barry M - White (Pictured)
Barry M - Black
Revlon - Metallic
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Wet Cement
Seche Vite

I started off by painting my index and pinkie fingers with Black and my middle and ring fingers White.

As the pinkie finger represents the skirt, I added Seche Vite to that & it was done. As the middle finger represents the Hair Bow, I added a Bow rhinestone to a coat of Seche Vite and that was that one done too!

I got the small bows from Born Pretty Store, so if you want to purchase the bows, the you can do so here.  Enter code LJL91 at the checkout for a 10% discount AND free world wide shipping.  Just a heads up, you get 10 Bows for 99 US Cents.  With my 10% discount, thats 90 US Cents - around 60p to you if you're in the UK like me - Bargain!

Back to the nail art, to represent the shoes, I used the sponge technique on my index finger (tutorial coming reeeeeal soon - I promise) with Wet Cement and Metallic dabbed on.  I added some caviar to the edges to act as the spikes, and you're done!

Finally, for my ring finger to represent the top, I added a coat of Seche Vite to the White and waited around 15 minutes for it to dry.  I then added stripes Nail Vinyl's from She-Sells-Seashells, which can be purchased here (& full review coming on them soon, too!).  I then added Black, pulled the tape off and applied more Seche Vite! If you are unsure of anything Tape related when it comes to nail art, then check out my Tutorial, complete with Tips and Tricks here.

Wow! What a loada information! July is looking like a pretty busy month here at Spangley Nails.  Please stay tuned, you really won't want to miss out.
